Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Wednesday, Sept. 2, premiere of Earle Meets World, Earle discussed finally addressing her rift with Cooper on camera for the new Netflix show, which is scheduled to drop on Friday, Sept. 4. “I’m happy that I said my piece and whatever,” Earle told Entertainment Tonight. “But I’m happier just to, like, on the premiere and having the show out there. And, you know, hers are getting canceled, so it is what it is.”
Earle’s comments followed industry reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter confirming that Love Overboard, a dating series produced by Cooper, was canceled by Hulu after a single season. Representatives for Cooper did not respond to requests for comment from People at the time of publication.
Origins of the Public Rift Between Earle and Cooper
The tension between the two personalities went public on April 13, when Cooper posted a TikTok video addressing Earle by name. In the clip, Cooper criticized the Dancing with the Stars finalist for posting passive-aggressive likes and reposts, stating that Earle was manufacturing “fake drama” to distract from other events in her life. Cooper challenged Earle directly in the video, saying, “You’re going to need to get specific and just say what you’ve got to say about me. There’s no NDA. No one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself.”
Hours after Cooper posted the clip, Earle left a comment reading, “Okay on it!!” and subsequently reposted the video to her own profile. The following day, the Reale Actives founder shared footage documenting how her friends woke her up after Coachella to show her Cooper’s video. In the clip, Earle asked if the video was funny, and after watching it, told her friends that it made her entire day.
On April 15, Cooper returned to social media via Instagram Stories to deny speculation that the feud was a staged public relations stunt. During those statements, Cooper also criticized fellow content creator Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia for allegedly contributing to a false narrative regarding the dispute.
