Amadeus Returns as Judge for ‘Amici 25’

Amadeus has been confirmed as the fourth judge for the upcoming season of the Italian talent show, ‘Amici 25,’ set to premiere on Saturday, March 21st, on Canale 5. The announcement was made via the program’s social media channels with a video revealing the reasoning behind a series of clues.

Behind the Clues

In the video, Amadeus explained the significance of the symbols used to hint at his involvement. He shared that SpongeBob was his son’s favorite cartoon and a lucky charm gifted to him during his five years hosting the Sanremo Music Festival. He also spoke about his lifelong connection to horses, stating they are “part of my family.” Finally, he described the backpack as a “survival kit” representing his fear of forgetting something important.

A Warm Welcome from Maria De Filippi

Host Maria De Filippi presented Amadeus with the judge’s sweatshirt, playfully acknowledging his new role. Amadeus responded with humor, stating he would maintain the sweatshirt in his backpack, emphasizing the importance of ‘Amici’ to him.

The Judging Panel

Amadeus joins a four-person judging panel consisting of Gigi D’Alessio, Cristiano Malgioglio, and Elena D’Amario. Alessandro Cattelan will also be featured in the evening show, though his role remains undisclosed.

Creative Team and Contestants

Stéphane Jarny will return as the artistic director for his sixth consecutive year. The program, created and hosted by Maria De Filippi, is produced by Fascino Pgt for Mediaset, with Paola Di Gesu as executive producer and Andrea Vicario directing.

Seventeen students, divided into three teams, will compete this season. The teams are led by Anna Pettinelli and Emanuel Lo (with singers Gard, Opi, and Valentina, and dancers Alessio and Kiara); Alessandra Celentano and Rudy Zerbi (with singers Caterina, Elena, Plasma, and Riccardo, and dancers Antonio, Emiliano, and Nicola); and Lorella Cuccarini and Veronica Peparini (with singers Angie, Lorenzo, and Michele, and dancers Alex and Simone).

Premiere Guests

The first episode will feature a comedic performance by Pio and Amedeo, and a musical performance by Annalisa, who will present her new single, ‘Summer Song’.
