Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Early Discounts Launch With Smartwatch and Tablet Price Cuts Ahead of October 6 Event

Amazon will officially kick off its Prime Big Deal Days on Tuesday, Oct. 6, but early-bird discounts are already live across popular wearables and tablets from major tech brands. While non-Prime members can still shop the event, unlocking the deepest savings requires a subscription, though Amazon is offering free 30-day trials during the sales period. Parallel early-bird discounts extend beyond wearables into Apple’s iPad lineup, with Mashable reporting that baseline models and high-end configurations are seeing early markdowns. Fall shopping trends show holiday deals launching earlier than traditional Black Friday rollouts, prompting shoppers to evaluate early discounts across multiple tech categories.

Apple Watch Ultra and iPad Pro Hardware Reductions

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 (49mm) is currently marked down to $699.97 from its regular price of $899.00 at Amazon, saving buyers $199.03. This rugged wearable features dual-frequency GPS, ECG functionality, fall and crash detection, and up to 72 hours of battery life alongside satellite connectivity for off-grid messaging.

For tablet buyers, Mashable reported that early October Prime Day iPad deals feature $200 discounts on select M4 iPad Pro configurations. These include a 13-inch model with 512GB of storage and an 11-inch model equipped with 2TB of storage and a nano-texture display. Meanwhile, the base iPad with 128GB of storage is seeing a $30 discount ahead of the official event. With or without cellular connectivity, the base iPad with 128GB of storage is rated for up to six hours of battery life, and even though its tech is basic compared to the advanced iPad Air and Pro, writes Mashable’s Samantha Mangino, it’s great for someone who wants a portable screen for streaming, playing games, and reading.

Garmin and Samsung Wearable Price Drops

Garmin offers several deep discounts, led by the Garmin Vivoactive 5, which is marked down to $181.97 from $299.99, saving buyers $118.02. The device features an 11-day battery life, onboard music storage, nap tracking, and a specialized wheelchair mode.

Athletes can also purchase the Garmin Forerunner 165 for $199.99, down from $249.99, while the rugged Garmin Instinct 3 is priced at $349.99, a $100 reduction from its $449.99 list price.

Samsung’s wearable lineup is also discounted ahead of the main event. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is available for $185.00, down from $249.99, offering revised gesture controls, dual-frequency GPS, and an AMOLED display. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is marked down to $494.95 from $649.99, giving buyers a $155.04 savings on a titanium-built adventure watch waterproof up to 328 feet.

Fitbit and Additional Deals

Shoppers can also find the Fitbit Charge 6 on sale at Amazon for $116.95 down from $159.95, saving $43. The Fitbit Charge 6 is iOS and Android compatible, features an AMOLED display, and connects to exercise machines.

Prime Big Deal Days Timeline and Membership Requirements

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event runs on Oct. 6 and Oct. 7. Shoppers who do not currently hold an active subscription can sign up for a free 30-day Prime trial to access promotional pricing. Tech editors note that while some early-bird discounts match what will be offered during the main event, high-demand inventory such as Apple Pro tablets and specialized Garmin outdoor watches may sell out before the October dates conclude.
