Amsterdam Sees Second Shooting in Two Weeks, One Dead

Amsterdam, Netherlands – A man was killed in a shooting in the Nieuw-West district of Amsterdam early Sunday morning, marking the second shooting in the city in less than two weeks. Police are investigating the incident and have urged witnesses to arrive forward.

Details of the Shooting

Authorities received multiple reports of gunfire around 1:30 a.m. From Theodoor Hoytemastraat. Further calls reported gunfire minutes later at Koningin Wilhelminaplein, approximately 800 meters away. The victim was discovered on Terheideweg, behind the square.

Emergency services attempted to resuscitate the man on-site, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the shooting remains unknown as of Sunday morning, according to police statements NL Times.
