Armenia’s Deputy FM Meets US Trade Delegation

Armenia and US Advance strategic Partnership with Focus on Energy and Mining

yerevan, Armenia – 2026/01/15 06:17:49 – Armenia and the united States are strengthening their economic ties through collaborative projects in energy, mining, and infrastructure progress, following a recent meeting between Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister robert Abisoghomonyan and a delegation from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) led by Regional Director Carl Kress.

The discussions centered on the implementation of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) established during the Washington peace Summit on August 8, 2025. Key areas of focus included the Trade and Investment Promotion Program (TRIPP), energy sector cooperation, and collaboration within the mining industry. Both nations expressed satisfaction with the progress made in realizing agreements reached during the summit.

A notable point of emphasis was the TRIPP implementation framework, approved after a January 13, 2026 meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This framework provides a structured approach to fostering increased trade and investment between the two countries. Officials highlighted the commitment to sustained cooperation in areas of mutual economic benefit.

The USTDA’s involvement signals continued US support for Armenia’s economic diversification and modernization. The agency plays a crucial role in facilitating project planning and investment opportunities, notably in emerging markets. The collaboration in the energy sector is expected to enhance Armenia’s energy security and promote enduring energy solutions. Similarly, cooperation in the mining industry aims to leverage responsible and efficient resource management practices.

This strengthened partnership reflects a growing strategic alignment between armenia and the United States, built on shared values and a commitment to economic growth and regional stability. Further details regarding specific project timelines and investment amounts are expected to be released in the coming months.
