MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Southern Illinois Salukis baseball team defeated the Omaha Mavericks 9-1 on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Cambria Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium. WSIL News reported on the victory.

Southern Illinois jumped to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning with singles from Tim Simay driving in two RBIs.
