Asp Data Center Weighs Oslo Stock Listing to Fund Expansion

Norwegian data center operator Asp Data Center is evaluating an initial public offering on the Oslo Stock Exchange as early as this year to raise roughly one billion Norwegian kroner, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The potential listing aims to finance major capital investments driven by surging global demand for modern digital infrastructure.

CEO confirms capital intensive business and ownership review

Ole Fredrik Bergseth, chief executive of Asp Data Center, confirmed to E24 that the company operates a capital-intensive business with strong market demand, though he declined to comment directly on the IPO rumors. The strategic review of the company’s ownership began in February when parent company Asp Eiendom hired DNB Carnegie to evaluate its stake, according to Bergseth. “We have full focus on operating the business in accordance with our strategy,” Bergseth told E24.

Should the offering proceed, it would rank among the first Nordic market debuts following recent listings of similar operators in the United States and Asia, Bloomberg noted. The company secured 1.6 billion kroner in September through a bond issue characterized by strong investor interest.

Existing Facilities and Finnish Expansion Plans

Asp Data Center currently operates two facilities in Stavanger and maintains active developments in Dale and Suldal. The firm also holds a large property in Finland designed for an initial 30-megawatt capacity phase, with potential expansion exceeding 400 megawatts. Total order reserves stand at nearly two billion kroner following recent contract agreements for the K11 facility in Stavanger.
