Leaked Recording Allegedly Shows Assad Mocking Syrians’ Hardships
Jakarta – A recorded conversation purportedly involving former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has been leaked to the public. In the recording, Assad allegedly mocks the suffering of the Syrian people struggling due to the prolonged war.
Assad was ousted from power by Syrian opposition forces in December 2024. Following his resignation, Assad sought refuge in Russia, which had supported him during the Syrian conflict.Assad and his family are currently believed to reside in Moscow, the Russian capital.
The leaked recording, believed to be an older video recently surfaced, was obtained exclusively by Al Arabiya television. The broadcast reveals a conversation previously hidden from public view.
