Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update: Switch 2 DLC Release Date and New Features

Ubisoft has detailed its roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, outlining upcoming updates and the highly anticipated release date for the Claws of Awaji expansion on the Nintendo Switch 2. The updates, rolling out through March, will enhance gameplay and add new content for players.

Title Update Arriving February 17th

The first major update arrives tomorrow, February 17th, introducing several key improvements to the game. These include:

• Detailed Stats Page: A new stats page accessible from the inventory allows players to examine their loadout’s stats at a granular level, including damage calculations and cumulative equipment effects.
• Enhanced Critical Hit Feedback: Critical hits now feature a visual flash on the enemy health bar and “snappier” animations, providing clearer feedback to players.
• Manual Jump Option: A manual jump option has been added to the parkour system.

Claws of Awaji Expansion Launching on Switch 2

The Claws of Awaji expansion, previously released on other platforms in September, will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 10th. Nintendo Life reports that this paid DLC introduces a new area to explore – the island of Awaji – and a new storyline following Naoe and Yasuke as they search for a lost treasure. The expansion also includes new weapons and skins that can be used in the main game.

Nintendo Switch 2 Optimization and Features

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, launched on December 2, 2025, was optimized to deliver a full experience with all post-launch content available at release, according to Ubisoft. Key features include:

• Enhanced parkour system with improved mechanics.
• New Game+ mode.
• A new “Nightmare” difficulty setting.
• The limited-time Attack on Titan collaboration (available until December 22nd).
• Touchscreen controls for menus, maps, and navigation.
• Targeted 30fps performance in both docked and handheld modes.
• Offline play in both docked and handheld modes after installation.

Upcoming Anniversary Celebration

Ubisoft also plans to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on March 20th with livestreams and giveaways.
