Assumption Rockets Advance in KHSAA Girls Sweet 16
Lexington, KY – The Assumption Rockets secured a dominant victory over Calloway County in the first round of the 2026 Clark’s Pump N Shop KHSAA Girls Sweet 16 basketball tournament on Wednesday, March 11th. The Rockets, making their first appearance in the Sweet 16 since 2007, defeated Calloway County with a final score of 72-35.

Ashlinn James led the Rockets in scoring, contributing 22 points to the win. Se’Rae Bundrent-Palmer likewise played a key role, adding 22 points for Assumption. The team demonstrated a strong offensive performance, highlighted by Bundrent-Palmer’s three-point shots.
The game also marked a special occasion for Ashlinn James, who celebrated her birthday alongside the team’s victory. Celebratory moments were captured as James and teammates Jaida Allen celebrated successful plays.
