AWS Updates: New Launches, Events, and Community Programs – January 2026

The AWS community is kicking off 2026 with a series of re:Caps and community events, including the recent AWS Community Day Tel Aviv 2026. Several key launches and updates have also been announced, alongside opportunities for developers and AI enthusiasts to engage with AWS technologies.

Last Week’s Launches

• Kiro CLI Enhancements: The Kiro CLI now features granular controls for web fetch URLs, keyboard shortcuts for custom agents, and improved diff views. These updates allow for more refined control over agent access and a smoother workflow when managing multiple specialized agents. AWS Events
• AWS European Sovereign Cloud: Following initial plans announced in 2023, the AWS European Sovereign Cloud is now generally available to all customers. This cloud infrastructure is designed to meet the stringent sovereignty requirements of European customers, offering a comprehensive suite of AWS services. AWS Events
• Amazon EC2 X8i Instances: Amazon EC2 X8i instances, previewed at AWS re:Invent 2025, are now generally available. Upcoming AWS Events
