Azamara’s 2028 World Cruise: Immersive Journeys Across Six Continents
Azamara Cruises has opened bookings for its 2028 World Cruise, offering travelers an extended 175-night voyage aboard the Azamara Onward. The cruise will span six continents and 40 countries, visiting 91 ports and emphasizing immersive experiences and extended stays in key destinations. Beyond the full world cruise, Azamara is likewise offering 14 World Cruise Segments, nine Grand Voyages, and six Combination Cruises, allowing for more flexible travel options.
A Global Itinerary
The 2028 World Cruise is designed for travelers seeking meaningful connections and deeper exploration, according to Mike Pawlus, head of itinerary planning at Azamara Cruises. The journey will encompass a diverse range of destinations, including remote locations like Easter Island and Pitcairn Island, as well as vibrant cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, and Singapore. Extended stays and overnight calls are planned in ports like Cape Town and Florence, providing ample time for exploration.
Segmented Sailing Options
Recognizing that a 175-night voyage isn’t feasible for all travelers, Azamara has introduced segmented sailing options. These allow guests to book portions of the World Cruise, creating personalized “mini” world cruise experiences. Some highlighted segments include:
- Peru, Chile, Pitcairn & French Polynesia (January 19 – February 4, 2028): This segment travels from Lima (Callao) through the South Pacific, with visits to Easter Island, Pitcairn Island, and French Polynesian ports like Fakarava, Moorea, and Papeete. Guests can also opt for a pre-cruise visit to Machu Picchu as part of AzAmazing Journeys.
- Vietnam, Thailand & Singapore (March 28 – April 10, 2028): This Southeast Asia chapter features extended time in Ho Chi Minh City, a double overnight stay in Bangkok, and visits to Ko Samui and Singapore.
Flexibility and Choice
Azamara’s approach to the 2028 World Cruise emphasizes flexibility. The introduction of World Cruise Segments, Grand Voyages, and Combination Cruises allows guests to tailor their journey to their preferences and time constraints. This approach aims to make extended, immersive travel more accessible to a wider range of travelers.
