Early Dominance Against Rival FC Schüttorf 09

Despite a surprising two-set loss by Tebbe Monsees to Gianluca Schulte—where Monsees dropped the first game 21-6—Joana Tietjen secured a three-set victory to maintain the team’s cushion. Yannick Rohdenburg added a hard-fought singles win against Giovanni Schulte, edging the third set 21-19 after dropping the second 22-20. Initial doubles wins by Rohdenburg and Monsees alongside Tietjen and Landesliga debutant Rebecca Semken handed the visitors a brief 2-0 lead before the team unraveled. Alpers and Puckhaber struggled with unforced errors after the opening set, while Rohdenburg suffered a surprising straight-sets defeat against a resurgent Jan Reitemeyer. Describing the hosts’ performance, Jakob Puckhaber noted that Leer players seemingly hit every shot right and played at their absolute best during a sudden afternoon surge. Monsees dropped a close three-set battle to close out the contest, sealing the 6-2 defeat for the visiting side.
