Banda Los Recoditos Suspends Vocalist Rafael González Amid Domestic Violence Allegations
Mexican banda group Banda Los Recoditos has temporarily suspended vocalist Rafael González following public accusations of domestic violence made by his longtime partner, Fernanda Redondo. The allegations, which surfaced on social media, prompted a swift response from the band, reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy towards violence.
Accusations and Band’s Response
Fernanda Redondo publicly accused González of domestic violence, sharing videos on TikTok displaying visible injuries. She alleges a history of physical and psychological abuse spanning their 12-year on-and-off relationship. In one video, Redondo described being attacked with a knife after refusing to host a barbecue at their home in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. Infobae reports that Redondo similarly stated she requires psychiatric care due to the ongoing issues.
Banda Los Recoditos released a statement on March 5th, stating, “As a company, we reiterate our zero-tolerance stance against any form of violence. Our ongoing commitment to respect, integrity and the values we promote within and outside of our band remains steadfast.” Billboard reported on the band’s immediate action.

Legal Status and Ongoing Tour
As of March 6th, Fernanda Redondo had not filed a formal complaint with the authorities. The Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office confirmed to Billboard Español that no injury complaint had been received under Redondo’s name. The band is currently continuing its U.S. Tour with Santos de Jesús Pérez “JeyPi” filling in as vocalist. Billboard reports that Banda Los Recoditos has a 37-year history and has launched the careers of artists like Pancho Barraza and Luis Ángel “El Flaco.”
