McKendree Beach Volleyball Dominates in Hawaii, Remains Undefeated on Day One

HONOLULU, HI – McKendree University’s beach volleyball team began its 2026 season with a strong showing at the Hawaii Tournament, securing victories over both Chaminade University and Hawaii Pacific University on Tuesday, March 17th.

Bearcats Defeat Chaminade in Close Contest

The Bearcats kicked off the tournament with a hard-fought 3-2 win against Chaminade University. The matches were closely contested, with several going to three sets.

• No. 1: Ama/Misipeka (Cham) defeated Brooke Junker/Natalie Witt – 2-1 (18-21, 21-15, 15-11)
• No. 2: Krueger/Bauer (Cham) defeated Samantha Coe/Audrey Bennett – 2-1 (21-11, 18-21, 15-8)
• No. 3: Amber Williams/Abby Hickman defeated Brainard/Stephens (Cham) – 2-1 (16-21, 21-15, 15-11)
• No. 4: Megan Diercks/Shannon Ferrell defeated Mihalik/Karasinska (Cham) – 2-1 (21-15, 17-21, 15-10)
• No. 5: Addyson Mock/Madi Stevens defeated Poling/Sheehy (Cham) – 2-0 (21-6, 21-15)

McKendree Sweeps Hawaii Pacific

Following their victory over Chaminade, McKendree continued their winning streak with a decisive 5-0 sweep against Hawaii Pacific University, not dropping a single set in the process.
