Samsung Discontinues Galaxy Z TriFold After Brief Market Run

Samsung is ending sales of its innovative, yet short-lived, Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone just three months after its initial release. The device, which debuted in South Korea in December 2025 and in the US in January 2026, quickly became a sought-after item, with some buyers paying above MSRP on the secondary market. While Samsung sold every unit it could produce, the discontinuation suggests the phone was always intended as a demonstration of Samsung’s engineering capabilities rather than a long-term product line addition. Rising Component Costs a Likely Factor

Samsung has not publicly stated the reason for ending sales. However, industry analysts speculate that rising costs of components, particularly storage and memory, played a significant role.
