Four Arrested in Bergen Drug Case

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a serious drug case in the Bergen area of Norway, police announced on Monday morning. The arrests took place on Sunday evening and Monday, with two individuals apprehended in Åsane and two others in various locations throughout the Bergen region.

Details of the Arrests

According to police prosecutor Øyvind Røyneberg, the arrests were made following a tip-off received by Bergensavisen (BA) on Sunday evening regarding a police operation involving police dogs at an address in Åsane. Røyneberg confirmed the arrests in a statement to the press.

“I can confirm that four people have been arrested in a serious drug case,” Røyneberg stated. He declined to provide further details about the quantity of drugs involved or the ages of those arrested, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. Bergens Tidende and Europesays.com both reported on the arrests.

Legal Representation

All four individuals are currently in custody at the Bergen police station and have been assigned legal counsel. Advocates Marius Wesenberg and Jørgen Riple are among those representing the arrested individuals, but have not yet commented on the case. Bergens Tidende reported that other defense attorneys also declined to comment at this time.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation is in its early stages and authorities are not releasing further information to the public at this time.
