Betterhood Secures ₹5 Crore Seed Funding to Revolutionize Preventive Paincare in India
Betterhood, a preventive paincare startup founded in 2024, has raised ₹5 crore (approximately $600,000 USD) in a seed funding round led by Kairon Capital. The funding round too saw participation from angel investors including Yogesh Kabra of XYXX, Rishubh Satiya of Plix, Rohit Chawla and Sifat Khurana of Innovist, and Shayamal Vallabhjee, a sports scientist and performance coach.
Addressing a Growing Require for Musculoskeletal Health
The startup focuses on providing products and solutions for musculoskeletal health and posture support, catering to a market where consumers typically address pain only after it becomes persistent. Betterhood aims to shift this reactive approach towards proactive prevention, posture correction, recovery, and long-term musculoskeletal care. The company offers a range of products including posture support, orthotic support, knee & wrist support, and pain relief solutions.
Capital Allocation and Expansion Plans
According to Vikram Kadam, founder of Betterhood, the newly acquired capital will be strategically allocated to three key areas: product development, team expansion, and strengthening distribution channels. This includes expanding both online and offline presence, leveraging e-commerce platforms and quick commerce options. The company also plans to establish a stronger offline footprint through collaborations with physiotherapy clinics, running communities, and wellness stores.
A Focus on Lifestyle-Rooted Solutions
Neha Zade, co-founder of Betterhood, emphasized that musculoskeletal issues in India are increasingly linked to modern lifestyles – work habits, commuting patterns, and overall movement. Betterhood’s product design philosophy centers around addressing these lifestyle-rooted causes of pain, creating solutions tailored for the modern Indian user. The company currently serves approximately 60,000 customers.
Technology and Tools for Pain Identification
Betterhood differentiates itself by offering tools on its website to help users identify potential causes of pain in common areas like the neck, back, shoulders, and knees. A posture analysis tool is also available to assist users in understanding and correcting postural imbalances.
