Takshashila Initiative for Sports: A New Training Hub in Bihar
A significant development is underway to bolster sports infrastructure in Bihar and Eastern India. Takshashila Educational Society has announced “Pahal – Takshashila Initiative for Sports,” a self-financed project to construct a comprehensive sports training campus on approximately 70 acres of land in Koilwar, Bhojpur district.
A Self-Financed Model for Sports Development
This initiative distinguishes itself from typical large-scale sports projects, which often rely on government funding, corporate sponsorships, or public-private partnerships. Takshashila Educational Society is uniquely funding this venture independently, leveraging its experience in education through its network of Delhi Public Schools (DPS).
Identifying and Nurturing Talent
The primary objective of “Pahal” is to identify promising sports talent from both rural and urban areas, provide them with professional training, and create pathways for their future success. The project aims to emulate successful sports training systems worldwide, with a focus on both athletic development and the players’ long-term career prospects.
