WOW 26 Bilbao: Special Bus Service and Traffic Changes This Weekend
Bilbao is preparing for a busy weekend with the WOW FC 26 mixed martial arts event on Saturday, February 21, 2026 and ongoing carnival celebrations. The city council has announced adjustments to public transportation and traffic flow to accommodate both events.
Special Bilbobus Service for WOW FC 26
To facilitate travel to the Bilbao Arena for WOW FC 26, the G5 line Bilbobus will modify its route at midnight to include a fresh stop at Askatsuna/Parkea in the direction of Zabalburu/Hurtado Amezaga. This change will be in effect at the conclusion of the mixed martial arts event, ensuring convenient transportation for attendees. Tapology confirms the event is scheduled for February 21, 2026, at the Bilbao Arena.
Alternative Transportation Options
The Bilbao City Council highlights that numerous metro, train, and tram stops are located within a 500-meter radius of the Bilbao Arena, providing direct connections to all neighborhoods of the city and surrounding areas. A taxi rank will also be available on Avenida Askatasuna, 11.
Carnival-Related Traffic Closures and Bilbobus Changes
In addition to the WOW FC 26 event, Bilbao will host various carnival parades this weekend in neighborhoods including Uribarri, Matiko, Irala, Santutxu, Betolatza, and Zorrotza. These parades will result in traffic closures and detours beginning on Friday and potentially extending through Sunday, February 22nd.
