BINDAL, Norway – Emergency services responded to a house fire in Bindal, Norway, on Sunday evening. Authorities have confirmed that the fire was intentionally set by the homeowner, with no suspicion of other individuals being inside the residence.

The fire department received the initial alert at 7:47 PM local time, according to reports from Adresseavisen and NRK Nordland. The location of the fire is between Bindalseidet and Røytvoll.

“There is no suspicion that there are people inside the house,” stated Ketil Stene, operations manager for the Trøndelag Police District. He also indicated that there was no immediate danger of the fire spreading, as reported by Namdalsavisa.

Duty manager Frank Hansen at the 110 central revealed that the house was nearly completely destroyed by the fire. “The homeowner has burned down the house, but it was unknown to us that this would happen,” Hansen said to Adresseavisen.

As of 8:54 PM local time, the fire service continued to work at the scene, assessing the situation and ensuring complete extinguishment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the homeowner’s decision to burn down the property.
