Blanche Gallagher, Strabane Community Figure, Passes Away at 90
Blanche Gallagher (née Finlay), a well-known resident of Strabane, County Tyrone, passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2026, at the Foyle Hospice. She was 90 years old.
Life and Family
Born as Blanche Finlay, she was the beloved wife of John Gallagher. She is survived by her children Louise (Fred), Debbie, Glenn (Katherine), and Rachael (Conor). She was predeceased by her children, Lauren and Jonathan. Mrs. Gallagher was a grandmother to Nicole, Benita, Stefan, Erin, Tiarán, Tristan, and Aoibh. She is too survived by her siblings Hamilton, Seymour, Perry, Sandra, Angela, Mervyn, and Hillary.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at her home, 5 Tulacorr Drive, Strabane, on Tuesday, March 24th, from 2 p.m. The funeral will abandon her home on Thursday, March 26th, at 12:20 p.m. For Requiem Mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Derry Road, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live via the Parish webcam.
Donations and Family Time
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Foyle Hospice c/o Quigley Funeral Directors, Newtown Place, Strabane. Family time will be observed from 10 p.m. To 11 a.m. And on the morning of the funeral.
