An investigation is underway in Puerto Madryn after local authorities recovered the body of a 25-year-old man from a drainage ditch near the Puerto Madryn Rugby Club and the Aeromodelism Club on Tuesday afternoon, according to Canal 12.
Discovery of the Body in Puerto Madryn
The grim discovery occurred during the afternoon hours when a passerby spotted the body in the municipal drainage ditch, known locally as a zanja de guarda, situated near the local rugby and aeromodeling facilities. The individual immediately alerted emergency services. Following the notification, provincial police and the Public Ministry of Fiscal Affairs deployed units to the scene. Fernando Blanco, a representative of the prosecution, participated directly in the initial preliminary procedures conducted at the site.
Forensic Investigation and Scheduled Autopsy
Crime scene investigators from the provincial police department, known as Policía Científica, secured the perimeter on Tuesday afternoon. Technicians gathered physical evidence and preserved items found around the ditch to reconstruct the timeline of events. Authorities have not yet confirmed the official cause of death or released details regarding how the young man’s body came to be in the area. To resolve these questions, the Public Ministry of Fiscal Affairs scheduled an official autopsy for Wednesday. Prosecutors expect the forensic examination to clarify the exact mechanics of the death and dictate the subsequent trajectory of the ongoing police inquiry.
