Boise State Women’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Betsy Rawls Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas – The Boise State women’s golf team concluded its participation in the Betsy Rawls Invitational on Monday, March 17, 2026, finishing in eighth place with a team score of 947 (+83). The tournament, held at The University of Texas Golf Club, presented challenging conditions, including harsh winds and cold temperatures on the first day, which featured 36 holes.

The Broncos demonstrated resilience, improving their score by 20 strokes from the first to the second round and further refining their performance with a six-stroke improvement on the final day.

Matsueda Leads the Broncos

Junior Teal Matsueda led the Boise State team, tying for 18th place with a total score of 230 (+14). This marked her fifth top-25 finish of the season, tying Leia Chung for the most on the team and bringing her career total to 16, tied for the 10th-most in program history.

Junior Jillian Hui recorded the team’s best round of the week, carding a 73 (+1) on the final day.

Tournament Highlights

  • The Broncos tied for the fourth-best average on par 5s (5.13).
  • Leia Chung recorded 34 pars, tying for sixth in the field.
  • All seven teams that finished ahead of Boise State are ranked in the nation’s top-50, including No. 7 Texas, No. 9 Oklahoma, and No. 10 Pepperdine.

Next Up for the Broncos

Boise State will host Idaho in the State of Idaho Match on April 2 at the Warm Springs Golf Course in Boise, beginning at 10 a.m. The competition will consist of 27 holes played in three formats: alternate shot (first nine holes), four-ball (second nine holes), and singles match (final nine holes).
