Brown Edges Boston College in Women’s Tennis Thriller

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Boston College women’s tennis team (6-2) dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Brown University (6-3) Sunday afternoon at the Weymouth Club. Despite a strong start in doubles play, the Eagles were unable to hold off a resilient Brown team in singles competition.

Doubles Dominance for Boston College

Boston College came out strong in doubles play, securing all three matches. The No. 1 duo of Seren Agar and Natalie Eordekian earned a 6-4 victory.1 At No. 2, Olivia Benton and Leyden Games followed with a 7-5 win against the Bears, clinching the doubles point for the Eagles.1 The No. 3 match saw Tola Glowacka and Bella Camacho defeat the Bears 7-6.1

Singles Setbacks Seal the Match

In singles competition, Olivia Benton delivered a 7-5, 6-2 win at the No. 1 position over Hannah Shen.1 Natalie Eordekian added another point for the Eagles with a 7-6, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles.1

Brown answered with wins at No. 2, 4, 5 and 6. The most tightly contested matches came at No. 2 and No. 6, both going to third-set tiebreakers. Ali Maguy outlasted Seren Agar 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 at No. 2, and Sari Woo edged Nadia Barteck 6-7, 7-5, 7-6 at No. 6 to secure the match for the Bears.1
