Boulder County Power Outage: 6,700+ Without Electricity

Boulder County Power Outage Restored to Over 6,700 Customers

More than 6,700 xcel Energy customers in southeast Boulder County, adn portions of Broomfield and Weld counties, experienced a power outage on Wednesday afternoon. Service has since been fully restored.

Teh outage began at 1:44 p.m., impacting 6,785 customers in the Lafayette and Erie areas, and also surrounding communities, according to Xcel Energy‘s outage map.Initially, Xcel estimated power would be restored by 5:15 p.m., but service was fully restored by 6:50 p.m.

As of Wednesday evening, the cause of the power outage remains unknown.Xcel Energy has not released information regarding the specific factors that led to the disruption or whether any other towns or cities were affected beyond those initially reported.
