There is no more appropriate way for the UMass Minutemen to close out their season than a Tuesday matinee at home when most of the student body has already departed for the holidays.

It’s even more fitting that UMass, the lone winless team in FBS, is a 14.5-point underdog to Bowling Green, which enters this contest on a five-game losing streak.

The Falcons may be the second-worst team in the country right now, but the gap between them and the bottom is so wide that they are a two-score favorite on the road.

College football is a lovely thing.

It’s hard to look at the tale of the tape and make a case for UMass against anybody.

The Minutemen rank dead last in just about every offensive category, and they’re only slightly better without the ball.

It looked like this program was taking small steps forward in 2023 and 2024,but we’re back at rock bottom.

That said, it’s really challenging to find a path to a cover for Bowling Green.

The Falcons boast a decent defense by MAC standards, but the offence is not much better than the Minutemen.

That’s a huge problem when you’re laying 14.5 points in a meaningless game on the road.
