Bradley Track & Field Sets Multiple Records at Blue Demon Alumni Classic and Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – Jamie Phillips broke his own program record in the 800m, and a total of 12 new top-10 program times were set as Bradley Track & Field competed at the Blue Demon Alumni Classic and the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational over the weekend.

Phillips Shatters 800m Record

Phillips finished 10th overall at the Valentine Invite in Boston with a time of 1:47.22 in the Men’s 800m Invite. This performance surpassed his previous program record of 1:48.34, set on February 1, 2025, by over a second. As of February 15, 2026, his time is the best in the Missouri Valley Conference by two seconds and ranks 22nd nationally in NCAA Division I .

Locke Achieves Second-Fastest Time in Bradley History

David Locke also excelled in the 800m Invite, recording the second-fastest time in the conference this season at 1:49.23. This time is the fourth-fastest in Bradley history.

Additional Top-10 Performances

Beyond Phillips and Locke, the Braves achieved several other notable performances:

  • Bente van Milligen: Set the program’s 10th-fastest time in the women’s 800m at 2:10.67.
  • Trixie Wraith: Achieved a personal best and the fourth-fastest time in program history in the Women’s Mile Invite, finishing in 4:41.21.
  • Travis Gaffney: Set a personal best in the men’s mile run, recording the fourth-fastest time in Bradley history at 4:03.71.
  • Sawyer LeBlanc: Also set a personal best in the men’s mile run, achieving the eighth-fastest time in program history at 4:04.86.
  • Nadia Potgieter: Set a massive personal record in the women’s 5000m run, finishing in 16:12.81 for the fourth-fastest time in Bradley history.
  • Rhune Vanroose: Set the 10th-fastest time in Bradley history in the women’s 5000m run at 16:53.80.
  • Carolina Martinez: Recorded the fourth-fastest 200m time (25.22 seconds) and the second-fastest 400m time (55.54).
  • Olivia Redpath: Finished the 200m in 25.24 seconds, achieving the fifth-fastest time in program history.
  • Julia de Palma: Set the sixth-fastest 400m time in program history at 57.40 seconds.

Looking Ahead

The Bradley Track & Field team will now focus on preparations for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, culminating at the Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, on Saturday, February 21.
