Brazilian Music Concert in Puy-l’Évêque for Heritage Days

French-Brazilian guitarist Mathieu Guillemant and clarinetist Simon Charrier will perform a concert highlighting Brazilian popular music on September 19, 2026, at 5 p.m. in the outdoor theater at Place Boizard in Puy-l’Évêque, according to local organizers. The performance is organized by the Puy-l’Évêque Patrimoine association as part of regional heritage events, with a backup indoor location arranged in case of rain.

Concert Details and Musical Background

The upcoming performance brings together two distinct musical backgrounds in a historic outdoor setting. According to Puy-l’Évêque Patrimoine, Mathieu Guillemant—who teaches at the Cahors music school and is well-known locally—specializes in popular and oral musical traditions learned directly in Brazil. He previously performed regularly at the guitar festival formerly hosted in the same Puy-l’Évêque green theater before that event moved to Luzech. Joining him is Simon Charrier, whose training includes classical music studies at the conservatories of Aix-en-Provence and Toulouse before transitioning to improvised music formats.

Heritage Exhibition and Admission

Following the musical performance, attendees are invited to stay for a communal gathering featuring the traditional “verre de l’amitié” (glass of friendship). Alongside the social reception, the public can view a historical exhibition detailing the history of the Christian brothers who previously occupied the site, as detailed by the organizing association. Admission to the event is priced at 10 euros, while entry is free for children under the age of 12. Additional information and reservations are available by contacting the association via email at puyleveque.patrimoine@gmail.com or by phone at 06 63 41 42 40.
