The students of the Buxheim elementary school are pleased about winning the partner school program of the LEW educational initiative 3malE, an educational initiative of the LEW under the patronage of the Bavarian Minister of Education Anna Stolz. The school received five iPads as part of the competition.
True to the 3malE motto “discover, explore, experience”, the partner school program offers creative offers such as excursions, specialist lectures and experiment kits. The highlights include tours of energy locations, children’s university lectures, visits to the theater, workshops in museums as well as formats relating to energy and sustainability and prevention offers.
The Buxheim elementary school has been working profitably with tablets for several years and supplements lessons with digital formats in a pedagogically meaningful way. As a climate school, the Buxheim elementary school places particular emphasis on responsible, creative and self-determined use of digital media. The use of tablets supports the children in developing basic digital skills that are important in their current world.
Recently, Mr. Stölzle, community supervisor at LEW, officially handed over the devices to school principal Melanie Fischer. The mayor of the municipality of Buxheim, Mr. Schmidt, the chairwoman of the parents’ council, Ms. Dollinger, as well as teachers and children from the school were also present at the handover. The new devices from the competition make it possible to further expand successful digital teaching formats, from explanatory films in science lessons to collaborative writing projects and the documentation of experiments.
