BWF Membership Grant Programme 2026: Application Details and Eligibility Criteria

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) will open applications for the Membership Grant Programme 2026 on Thursday, March 19, 2026. This initiative aims to provide financial support to Member Associations for the development of badminton within their regions. The application period will remain open for three weeks, allowing ample time for associations to submit the necessary documentation.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the BWF Membership Grant Programme 2026, Member Associations must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed BWF Members Questionnaire 2026. The questionnaire is accessible through this link and is available in English, Spanish, and French.
  • Fall within categories 2-9 in the BWF Members Categorisation System.
  • Completed Schedule A 2025.
  • Paid Subscription Fees 2026.
  • Have no outstanding penalty or withdrawal fee payments to the BWF.
  • Attended the BWF/Continental Confederation (CC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) in either 2025 or 2026.
  • Completed reporting from any previous BWF Membership Grant Programme(s) received.

Grant Amount and Strategic Plan Requirement

The Membership Grant will be increased to USD 7,000 per eligible Member Association in 2026. A key requirement for receiving the grant will be the submission of a long-term strategic plan for the Member Association’s badminton federation. This plan should outline the association’s vision for the future and how the grant funds will be used to achieve its goals.

Addressing Previous Reporting and Eligibility

Member Associations that received grants in 2025 or prior years and have outstanding reporting requirements, or have not met all eligibility criteria, must address these issues by April 10, 2026, to remain eligible for the 2026 grant. Associations are encouraged to submit any outstanding reports as soon as possible.
