Bybit Expands Crypto Payments with Launch of Bybit Card in Georgia

DUBAI, UAE – March 14, 2026 – Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has launched a new initiative to expand the utility of digital assets with the introduction of the Bybit Card in Georgia. This move follows the company securing a Payment Service Provider (PSP) license in Georgia in the fourth quarter of 2025, and aims to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and traditional payment systems.

Forum Highlights Collaboration for Crypto Payment Future

Bybit convened regulators, global payment networks, banking leaders, and digital asset innovators in Tbilisi for a high-level forum focused on the future of crypto-powered payments. The event facilitated discussions on integrating digital assets into existing payment infrastructure and fostering the growth of Georgia’s digital economy. Keynote addresses were delivered by representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and the National Bank of Georgia, underscoring the country’s commitment to financial innovation.

Bybit Card: Bridging Crypto and Everyday Spending

The Bybit Card allows users in Georgia to spend their digital assets for everyday purchases. The card is compatible with Apple Pay in Georgia, providing secure and contactless payments directly from users’ digital wallets. Government representatives have expressed support for the launch, recognizing its potential to expand real-world digital asset payments.

PSP License and Regional Expansion

Bybit’s receipt of a PSP license in Georgia in Q4 2025 was a crucial step in enabling the issuance of the Bybit Card. This license strengthens local fiat payment rails and facilitates closer integration between digital asset services and the country’s financial infrastructure. Bybit plans to expand card issuance beyond Georgia, positioning the country as a regional hub for crypto-powered payment innovation.

Industry Leaders Weigh In

A panel discussion titled “The Future of Payments” featured insights from industry leaders including Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit; Shota Lomtadze, Director of Bybit Georgia; Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank of Georgia; David Zgudadze, Vice President for Georgia and Armenia at Mastercard; Salim Dhanani, co-founder and CEO of Pave Bank; Marco Dal Lago, VP Global Expansion and Strategic Partnerships at Tether; and Tekla Iashagashvili, Regional Manager of Bybit Georgia.

“Georgia has emerged as one of the most promising locations for digital financial innovation,” said Shota Lomtadze. “With the launch of Bybit Card and the foundation provided by our PSP license, we are strengthening the infrastructure that enables digital assets to move seamlessly between trading platforms and everyday payments.”

Ben Zhou added, “Bybit is here to stay. We are committed to being the most trusted partner for the National Bank of Georgia and the most valuable ally for the Georgian business community. We will continue to invest, hire talent and bring our global capabilities to this local market.”

Bybit’s Platform and Future Outlook

Currently, Bybit offers users in Georgia access to a comprehensive digital asset platform, including over 600 spot trading pairs, one-click buy functionality, OTC services, and institutional-grade security infrastructure.
