Casio launches G-Shock 2500 series watches

Casio is launching a new analog-only watch lineup called the G-Shock 2500 Series, reworking its original 1983 DW-5000C model with a softened, rounded bezel that has already earned the nickname “CasioNaut” from enthusiasts comparing its silhouette to luxury timepieces. oracleoftime.com reported that the collection comprises nine references split across three builds, with pricing spanning from $145 for bio-based resin models up to $350 for top-tier steel variations.

Casio Ships Bio-Based Resin Models and Steel Bezels Across Nine References

The G-Shock 2500 Series arrives with three distinct structural builds designed around Casio quartz module 5757. The entry-level GAC-2500 line utilizes an all-resin case measuring 46.7 x 44.5 x 12.7mm and comes in single-color options including black, dark green, white, and yellow. Meanwhile, the GMC-2500 and GMC-2500D variants measure 46.7 x 43.8 x 12.9mm, introducing stainless steel bezels paired with either textured resin straps or matching steel bracelets. The GMC-2500G-9A option features a gold-tone ion plating across both its bezel and brass dial.

Every reference in the series incorporates a 200-meter water-resistant structure, mineral glass, and a CR1025 battery rated for approximately two years of standard operation. Power management is aided by a Second Hand Sleep function that pauses the small seconds dial at the 9 o’clock position to extend battery life up to five years. At the 3 o’clock position, a Multi-Mission Date window uses a three-cell display to manage the calendar automatically through 2099 after initial setup.

Yamagata Casio Manufactures Analog Movement Designed for Intuitive Timekeeping

The analog movement powering the 2500 series is produced at Yamagata Casio, known internally as the G-Shock mother factory. To protect the mechanical layout from physical shock, the minute hand is held in place by magnets rather than a rigid gear connection. Casio designates this feature as the Shock Release Hand, which permits the hand to temporarily shift position during a hard impact before returning to the correct time within minutes.

Regional Pricing and November Launch Dates Shape Global Distribution

Retail rollout schedules for the G-Shock 2500 Series vary by geographic market. While the collection has already launched in India, US listings point to an estimated release date of November 6, followed by a UK launch reported for November 7, with official product pages pointing toward November 2026. Unconfirmed pricing details circulating through US retail listings place the resin GAC-2500 references at $145, the steel-bezel GMC-2500 models at $280, the gold-tone GMC-2500G-9A at $300, and the steel-bracelet GMC-2500D references at $350.
