Caudete will host a Women’s Self-Protection Course on December 12 and 19, 2026, organized by the town’s Women’s Center with Fundación Diagrama for women aged 14 and older, caudete.org reported. Both sessions run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at municipal facilities in Caudete.
The course forms part of the municipal program marking November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which this year carries the theme “November is spelled with a woman’s name” and the message “Educate and learn to live without fear,” caudete.org reported.

The first session takes place Saturday, December 12, 2026, at the Centro Municipal Vicente Lillo. The second follows on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at the Polideportivo Municipal, main pavilion, room 4, the martial arts room. Both run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The course caps participation at 30 women.

Self-Protection as an Additional Tool, Not a Burden
The department emphasizes that self-protection should not be understood as a responsibility women bear to avoid violence, but as an additional tool to strengthen security, confidence, emotional control and personal development. Fundación Diagrama, which collaborates on the course, develops social intervention, prevention and attention programs for people and groups in vulnerable situations.
The town aims for these activities to continue beyond the date as year-round education and prevention, reaffirming commitment to respect, dignity and coexistence without pitting men against women.
