CD Projekt Red Advances ‘Hadar’ Development While ‘Witcher 4’ Team Expands

CD Projekt Red is making significant progress on multiple fronts, including its new original IP, codenamed ‘Hadar,’ and the highly anticipated sequel to The Witcher 3. The company recently shared updates on both projects during its annual earnings call, alongside news of team expansion.

‘Hadar’ Progresses to Prototyping Stage

Work on ‘Hadar,’ CD Projekt Red’s third franchise, is “progressing dynamically,” according to joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski . The development team has established the foundational elements of this entirely new intellectual property, including clearly defined distinguishing features and key pillars that could extend beyond the initial game.

Currently, the team is actively designing specific game elements and creating multiple prototypes within the Unreal Engine to test mechanics and gameplay . This iterative process allows for live testing and verification of gameplay functionality.

‘The Witcher 4’ Development Continues

Alongside ‘Hadar,’ development of The Witcher 4 is as well ongoing. CD Projekt Red has expanded its team to 499 staff members, an increase of nearly 50 people since October of the previous year . The company is also increasing staff working on the Cyberpunk franchise.

Additional Projects in the Pipeline

Beyond ‘Hadar’ and The Witcher 4, CD Projekt Red is involved in several other projects. These include Cyberpunk 2, a multiplayer spin-off for The Witcher codenamed ‘Project Sirius,’ and a remake of the original Witcher developed in collaboration with Fool’s Theory .

Unannounced Game Project Planned for Release

CD Projekt Red plans to publish an unannounced game project in the coming quarters . This has fueled speculation about potential new DLC for The Witcher 3, which has been rumored for some time.
