Česká spořitelna to Halt Online Banking and ATM Access This Weekend
Česká spořitelna, one of the Czech Republic’s leading banks, has announced a planned outage of its George online banking platform and ATM network from midnight on Friday, March 13, to 5:00 a.m. On Saturday, March 14. The disruption will impact customers’ ability to conduct several common banking transactions.
Impacted Services
During the maintenance window, Česká spořitelna customers will be unable to:
- Log in to George on either mobile or desktop.
- Send payments through the George platform.
- Modify card payment limits.
- Create online purchases requiring George confirmation.
- Withdraw or deposit cash from Česká spořitelna ATMs.
Alternative Options During the Outage
While access to Česká spořitelna’s digital and ATM services will be limited, some banking functions will remain available:
- In-Store Card Payments: Card payments at physical point-of-sale terminals will continue to function without interruption.
- Card Blocking/Unblocking: Customers can block or unblock their cards, or Bank ID, by calling the bank’s information line at +420 277 207 207.
- Other Bank ATMs: Customers can withdraw cash from ATMs of other banks, though standard fees may apply depending on their account type.
Bank’s Recommendation
Česká spořitelna advises customers to complete any necessary transactions – including sending payments, checking balances, and making online purchases – before 11:59 p.m. On Friday, March 13, to avoid disruption.
