Charleston Southern Volleyball Adds Julia Abramo Rocha and Lena Pucnik to Coaching Staff

Charleston Southern University’s volleyball program has announced the addition of two new coaches to its staff: Julia Abramo Rocha as Assistant Coach and Lena Pucnik as Graduate Assistant Coach. Both appointments are effective immediately, bolstering the team’s expertise as they prepare for future seasons.

Julia Abramo Rocha Joins as Assistant Coach

Julia Abramo Rocha brings a strong background in both playing and coaching to Charleston Southern. A native of São Paulo, Brazil, Rocha most recently served as a graduate assistant at the University of Charleston in West Virginia, where she helped the Golden Eagles achieve a 23–13 overall record and an 11–4 conference record in 2025, culminating in a Mountain East Conference championship . She earned her MBA in Business Analytics from the University of Charleston following her two-year stint.

Prior to her coaching role, Rocha was a setter at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and Otero College. She graduated from UTRGV with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and was also a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative . Volleybox lists her current position as coach assistant at Charleston Univ.

Lena Pucnik Added as Graduate Assistant Coach

Lena Pucnik joins the CSU Volleyball program after a successful collegiate career as an outside hitter at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. During her five years at Life University, Pucnik amassed impressive statistics, including 1,493 kills, 1,414 digs, 157 service aces, and 152 total blocks.
