New rules for the state housing program
According to information from Novyny.live: The Ukrainian funding program “ДОселя” will be expanded from 2026. In the future, not only professional soldiers, but also mobilized soldiers will be able to take advantage of building financing with an interest rate of just 3% per year. This decision is intended to improve the housing situation of those who serve the country. The program is an important social policy component in a difficult time.
However, area restrictions apply to the subsidized property:
- The maximum size for an apartment is 115.5 square meters.
- A house can be up to 125.5 square meters in size.
Although these requirements place limits on the desire for housing, they still offer many military members the chance to have their own home.
Previous balance of the housing initiative
Since the start of the program, 23,039 Ukrainian families have been able to purchase their own property. The total volume of disbursed loans exceeds 39.7 billion hryvnia, which underlines the high demand. 11,185 of these loans went to members of the armed forces alone, which shows the particular interest of this group.
Government representative Yulia Svyrydenko emphasized: ‘We are gradually adapting the city to the real needs of the people.’
The adjustments demonstrate the government’s efforts to support soldiers and their families. Easier access to home ownership can have a positive impact on morale and social peace. The high demand for the program also highlights the great need for affordable housing in Ukraine, which will play a central role in the country’s reconstruction.
