East 20th Street in Cheyenne to Close Next Week for Water Main Work
A section of East 20th Street in Cheyenne, Wyoming, will be closed starting the week of March 23, 2026, for a water main rehabilitation project. The closure is expected to continue through mid-April, according to the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU).
Project Details and Traffic Impact
The BOPU will work to maintain access to homes and businesses as much as possible. Even though, vehicles should not be parked along the Right-of-Way within the work zone between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and occasionally on Saturdays. The work area will be clearly marked. Residents may experience temporary restrictions to driveway access during construction and are encouraged to park safely away from the work zone when necessary.
Potential Water Shutoffs
While the BOPU intends to coordinate water shutoffs, unplanned emergency shutoffs are possible during the project. Residents should be prepared for potential disruptions to their water service.
Project Goals and Contractor
This project aims to improve the reliability of water service in the area and is part of the BOPU’s broader initiative to renew aging water infrastructure. The work will be completed by Aztec Construction Company. The BOPU appreciates the community’s patience as they upgrade the water system.
Online Utility Bill Access
Customers of the Cheyenne BOPU can access and pay their utility bills online through the BOPU online payment portal. The portal allows users to search for accounts using their account and customer numbers.
