Chloe Kelly Honored with Barbie Doll Ahead of International Women’s Day
Arsenal and England forward Chloe Kelly has been recognized with her own Barbie doll as part of Mattel’s “Barbie Dream Team” series, launched in celebration of International Women’s Day. The series honors women who have broken barriers in their respective fields.
Celebrating Trailblazers
Kelly joins tennis legend Serena Williams and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana as part of the inaugural “Barbie Dream Team.” Mattel created the series to acknowledge women who have achieved significant firsts and inspire future generations.
Kelly’s Reaction
The 28-year-old Kelly expressed her excitement and pride, stating, “To be a Barbie role model is so special. To have my very own one-of-a-kind doll – I’m very proud of that.” She added, “You don’t really believe these things could happen. You always look for the trophies and the wins on the pitch but, off the pitch, this is a massive win.” Kelly also reflected on the significance of the doll for young girls, saying, “As a young girl, you dreamed of having these moments but they never seemed to be the case that they could come true.”
A Champion on the Pitch
Chloe Kelly has been instrumental in England’s recent success in women’s football. She scored the winning goal in the 2022 European Championship final against Germany, securing victory for the Lionesses at Wembley Stadium. She also converted the winning penalty in the 2025 European Championship final against Spain, retaining the title. Kelly was also a key player in England’s run to the final of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. At the club level, she contributed to Arsenal’s Women’s Champions League triumph last season.
The Barbie Dream Team Doll
The Chloe Kelly Barbie doll is designed to resemble the England kit she wore during the Lionesses’ European Championship victories. The doll aims to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams and recognize the achievements of female athletes.
This initiative underscores Mattel’s commitment to celebrating female empowerment and providing positive role models for children worldwide.
