Boston College’s Louka Cloutier Named to Mike Richter Award watch List

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College freshman goaltender Louka Cloutier has been recognized for his outstanding performance this season, earning a spot on the prestigious Mike Richter Award Watch List. The announcement was made on Wednesday afternoon, highlighting Cloutier’s early success in NCAA Division I Hockey.

The Mike Richter Award, presented annually since 2014, honors the top goaltender in NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey. Cloutier joins an elite group of 29 goaltenders nationwide and is one of six players from the Hockey east conference to be included on the Watch List.

Hailing from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Cloutier has quickly established himself as a key player for the Eagles. He currently ranks third in Hockey East with a goals-against average of 2.15 and boasts a save percentage of.913. His performance within conference play is even more extraordinary,leading the league in goals-against average (1.69) and ranking second in save percentage (.935).

This recognition builds on a strong tradition of goaltending excellence at Boston College. Last year, Jacob Fowler secured the Mike Richter Award, becoming the second Eagle to do so, following Thatcher Demko’s win in 2016.

Cloutier and the Boston college Eagles will return to action this weekend in a home-and-home series against providence. The first game is scheduled for Friday at Kelley Rink, followed by a trip to Schneider Arena on Saturday.
