CNN and CNBC Embrace Prediction Markets with Kalshi Partnerships

CNN and CNBC are both stepping into new territory. They’ve each formed partnerships with Kalshi, a platform focused on prediction markets. CNN announced it’s deal on Tuesday, planning to integrate Kalshi’s data throughout its programming, with CNN Chief Data analyst Harry Enten leading the effort. It seems the network will also launch a real-time news ticker powered by Kalshi, appearing during segments that feature the data. CNN’s newsroom, data, and production teams will have access to Kalshi’s data to help develop storylines and visuals.

CNBC announced its partnership on Wednesday. The network will begin using Kalshi data for its editorial coverage across TV, digital, and subscription channels in 2026. Kalshi’s data will be incorporated into programs like Squawk Box and Fast money. Like CNN, CNBC will also feature a Kalshi ticker during on-air programming. Kalshi will create a dedicated CNBC page on its site, showcasing markets selected by CNBC.

These partnerships suggest a growing interest in using prediction markets to inform news coverage. one might suggest this could offer a more data-driven and potentially accurate view of future events. It’s worth noting that Kalshi allows users to trade on the outcomes of events, creating a financial incentive for accurate predictions.
