Three Die in County Armagh Road Crash, Families ‘Torn Apart’

Three people were killed and four others injured in a three-vehicle collision on the Armagh Road near Moy, County Armagh, on Saturday evening, February 21, 2026. The victims have been named as 23-year-traditional Laura Hoy from Cookstown, County Tyrone, 31-year-old Conor Quinn from Derrylaughan, County Tyrone, and 48-year-old John Guy from Keady, County Armagh.

Details of the Collision

According to police reports, the crash involved a red BMW, a grey Volkswagen, and a white Audi. The collision occurred shortly before 10:30 PM on Saturday. Emergency services attended the scene, but Conor Quinn, John Guy, and Laura Hoy were pronounced dead at the scene. Three other individuals were hospitalized with injuries, and are currently in stable condition at hospitals in Belfast, and Armagh.

The Victims

John Guy, 49, originally from Dublin, was described as a “deary beloved daddy” to six children: Troy, Maddie, Carla, Tiana, Brogan, and Morgan. A death notice described him as a cherished son and brother. Conor Quinn, 31, was a father of four young boys. Laura Hoy, 23, was a mother to a four-year-old daughter. She also worked at a local bar and restaurant in Cookstown. Tragically, this is the second family tragedy for the Hoy family, as Laura’s sister, Linda Owens, passed away in June 2023 after battling cancer.

Community Reaction

The local community has expressed shock and grief following the incident. SDLP councillor Thomas O’Hanlon stated the “grief is just unimaginable and people are really, really stunned.” He noted that three families and three communities have been “torn apart in the blink of an eye.” According to online death notices, eleven children have lost a parent in the crash. Diana Armstrong, Ulster Unionist Party assembly member for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, described the Armagh Road as a “long, straight, fast road” and noted concerns about road safety on that stretch of road. She also pointed out the high volume of traffic on the road.

Assistant Chief Constable Davy Beck has appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1654 – 21/02/26.
