Match Recap

The match was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams demonstrating resilience and skill. Aurora University took the first set 19-25, but COD responded strongly, winning the second set 25-23. The third set proved to be the most competitive, extending beyond the usual 25 points. Despite having multiple opportunities to close it out, COD ultimately dropped the set 27-29.

DuPage dominated the fourth set, securing a 25-18 win and shifting the momentum in their favor. The fifth and final set was closely contested, with COD ultimately prevailing 15-13, completing the 3-2 victory.

Coach Koskinaris on the Team’s Performance

Head coach Tolis Koskinaris acknowledged the team’s ongoing development despite their impressive record. “We’re still fighting ourselves on the court at times,” Koskinaris said. “Our hearts are in the right places and [the team is] really focused on winning and competing in all these matches.”

Koskinaris noted that the team carried some frustration from their loss to Judson University into the match against Aurora. “AU might have gotten a little bit of our frustration today,” he added.

Looking ahead, Koskinaris emphasized the importance of continuous improvement and taking each match one at a time. “Just to keep growing,” he said. “It’s a long season. Just take it one match at a time. Don’t seem too far ahead.”
