COLBY, Wis. (WSAW) – The Cloverbelt East was ready for action on Thursday night in boys’ hoops. Elsewhere, the Mosinee girls picked up a big non-con win.
Beginning in Colby, Columbus Catholic took down the Hornets 84-65 on Thursday to keep their hold of first in the conference. The Dons improved to 11-1 in conference play, tied for first with Loyal. Their next game is on Tuesday against Owen-Withee. As for Colby, they fall to 4-14. They’ll see Gilman on Tuesday.
As for the aforementioned Blackhawks of Owen-Withee, they took down Spencer on the road 75-53. Owen-Withee led by ten at half and added to the lead from their. They’re now 12-7 on the year. Spencer drops to 15-6. Their next game is against Greenwood/Granton on Monday.
In girls’ hoops, Mosinee picked up an impressive road victory, running past Colfax 68-42. Mosinee gave Colfax just their third loss all season. Mosinee, meanwhile, improves to 16-4 on the year. They play Northland Pines next on Friday
