October 2026 is shaping up as a heavily packed month for console and PC players, with major publishers rolling out high-profile games across the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. viva.co.id reported that the lineup features a diverse mix of genres, including fantasy RPGs, horror games timed for the Halloween season, intense action titles, shooters, and racing games.

Industry schedules show that platforms ranging from mobile devices to high-end home hardware are seeing significant software drops. Kontan noted that the heavy release calendar spans titles such as Gears of War: E-Day, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, catering to a wide spectrum of gaming preferences.

Major Xbox, PlayStation, and PC Blockbusters Launching in Early October

Microsoft kicks off its heavy hitters on October 6 with the release of Gears of War: E-Day for Xbox Series X|S and PC, as reported by viva.co.id. Developed by The Coalition using Unreal Engine 5.2, the title serves as a prequel set 14 years before the original Gears of War, following Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during the initial Locust invasion. Kontan also highlighted Star Wars: Galactic Racer, developed by Fuse Games and published by Secret Mode alongside Lucasfilm Games, which launches on October 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The racing game features underground competitions in the Outer Rim with solo campaigns and multiplayer modes.

Horror fans receive a major release on October 8 with Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, heading to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. According to Kontan, the Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games project combines first-person action and survival horror, featuring the return of Doug Bradley as Pinhead. Meanwhile, Capcom brings Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on October 9 to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, adding a new snowy region, dungeons, and monsters to the fantasy RPG experience.

New RPG and Soulslike Games Launch in October

Nintendo Switch 2 owners gain access to the Kingdom Hearts Collection on October 8. The Value of Death launches on October 13 for PS5, Xbox, and PC. For gothic enthusiasts, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse arrives on PS5, Xbox, and PC on October 15, starring Rose Belmont in a new exploration-heavy campaign against creatures of the night. Additional multi-platform titles, such as Final Fantasy Resonance adopting an HD-2D turn-based format on October 22 and Phantom Blade Zero arriving on PC and PS5 on October 29, round out an exceptionally busy autumn release window.
