Tesco Deal to Boost Exports for Four Irish Food Producers, Including Three from Cork
Tesco Ireland has announced €10 million in new contract wins for four Irish suppliers, expanding their reach into the UK and Central European markets. The deals will see products from Folláin, Keohane Seafoods, Killowen Farm, and Bandon Vale stocked in Tesco stores across the UK, Czechia, Hungary, and Slovakia.
Irish Food Exports Reach €900 Million Annually
Currently, Tesco is the largest retail buyer of Irish food and drink globally, purchasing approximately €1.6 billion worth of Irish products each year. Over €900 million worth of Irish products are exported annually to Tesco stores outside of Ireland [RTÉ], [MSN].
Cork Producers Lead the Way
Three of the four companies benefiting from the new contracts are based in County Cork: Folláin, Keohane Seafoods, and Bandon Vale. This highlights Cork’s prominence as a hub for innovative food and drink production.
