McNeese Cowgirls Defeat Sam Houston 5-2 in Tennis Match
The McNeese State Cowgirls defeated Sam Houston 5-2 in a tennis match on Saturday, improving their season record to 2-0.The match was played in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
In singles play, Salome Fluri (MCN) defeated Nayuma Subba (SHSU) 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Ana Kurtsikashvili (SHSU) won against Alexa martinez (MCN) 6-1, 7-5. Christine Jevicky (SHSU) defeated Stella Rundova (MCN) 5-7,6-1,6-3. Erica Hagi (MCN) was victorious over Adit Venkatakrishnan (SHSU) 6-2, 6-2. Ana Hollweg (MCN) defeated Sara Sadadinovic (SHSU) 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, and Elena Morales (MCN) defeated Ella Fitcher (SHSU) 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles competition, Stella Rundova and Elena Morales (MCN) defeated Aaliyah Hohmann and Ana Kurtsikashvili (SHSU) 7-5. Christine Jevicky and Nayuma Subba (SHSU) defeated Salome Fluri and Erica Hagi (MCN) 6-4. Naomi Hagi and Ana Hollweg (MCN) won against Sara Sadadinovic and Ella Fitcher (SHSU) 7-5.

The Cowgirls will return home on Monday, February 5, to host Lubbock Christian at 10 a.m. This will be their final home match until their southland Conference match against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on March 7. The majority of their upcoming schedule will be on the road, with 10 of the next 12 matches played away from home.
