Theatre Morgan is presenting August Wilson’s Two Trains Running at the Turpin-Lamb Theatre inside Morgan State University’s Murphy Fine Arts Center. Directed by CJay Philip, the production runs through November 1, 2026, as part of the Baltimore August Wilson Celebration.

Set in Pittsburgh’s Hill District in 1969, the play follows restaurant owner Memphis Lee as he fights to protect his business against the backdrop of urban redevelopment and the rising Black Power movement. The narrative features regular patrons gathering in the diner to navigate personal struggles, economic hardship, and the looming reality of gentrification. The production has a running time of three hours with a 15-minute intermission.
