Plum Blossoms: A Symbol of Spring

Plum blossoms, known as maehwa (매화) in Korean, are traditionally seen as harbingers of spring. Their early bloom signifies resilience and overcoming the harshness of winter. The flowers are attracting visitors to botanical gardens and natural landscapes, with people expressing their joy at the arrival of warmer weather and the promise of spring activities like picnics and enjoying cherry blossoms.

Gyeonggi-do’s Poppy Gardens Also Await Visitors

Although plum blossoms are currently taking center stage, the poppy flower garden in Gyeonggi-do is also anticipated to be a popular destination as the weather warms according to the Korea Tourism Organization.
